Preparation and Cake Base
- Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced). Grease a muffin tray or prepare individual cups for assembling.
- Prepare the vanilla cake batter according to packet instructions, mixing cake mix, eggs, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract until just combined.
- Divide batter evenly into muffin tray and bake for 20–25 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
- Cool completely before assembling. This is essential to keep layers stable.
- Make the filling by whisking Cottee's Instant Vanilla Pudding with cold milk until thick and set. Refrigerate briefly if needed.
Assembly (this is your Dot Cake structure)
- Cut your cake into 3 layers and then use the first section of each cake to crumble it into the base of each cup or jar (this is your first layer).
- Add a generous layer of vanilla pudding over the cake
- Add a layer of vanilla frosting on top of the pudding. Smooth or pipe for a cleaner finish. Top with Sprinles
- Add another layer of cake and repeat the process twice more to get 3 layers of cake in total
- On the final layer, dip the cups in a plate of sprinkles to ensure full coverage for the top
- Chill for 20–30 minutes before serving to help layers set and improve texture.
