Ingredients

  • 240 mls Grenadine
  • 960 mls Lemonade
  • 240 mls Coconut Cream
  • 480 mls Blue Sports Drink/Powerade
  • 1/3 Punnet Strawberries
  • 1/2 Punnet Blueberries
  • 1 Starfruit, sliced

Method

  1. Pour the grenadine into the bottom of a tall clear glass to create the red base layer.
  2. Fill the glass with ice cubes.
  3. In a separate jug, combine the lemonade (or lemon-lime soda) with coconut cream and stir gently to combine.
  4. Slowly pour the white mixture over the back of a spoon so it floats above the red layer.
  5. Carefully pour the blue sports drink over the back of a spoon to create the top blue layer.
  6. Take your time with each layer to keep the colours distinct and avoid mixing.
  7. Garnish with sliced strawberries, blueberries, and an optional starfruit slice.
  8. Serve immediately for the best layered effect.

Notes

  • Best served immediately after assembling, as the layers will gradually blend over time.
  • For the cleanest layers, ensure all ingredients are well chilled before pouring.
  • Use a tall, clear glass to show off the red, white, and blue layers.
  • Pour each layer slowly over the back of a spoon to maintain separation.
  • Coconut cream can be swapped with coconut milk or omitted for a lighter version.
  • This recipe is non-alcoholic but can be adapted into a cocktail with a splash of white rum or vodka in the white layer.
  • Garnishes are optional but add visual impact for parties and celebrations.
